Lentz, U.

Hello, My Name Is...

Ute Lentz

CTE (Career and Technical Education): Technology, Engineering and Design

Much like in STEM at KIS, students will do engineering projects where they can apply their math, science and engineering skills to create robots that can help solving everyday problems.  I am very excited about guiding the KMS students through the engineering design process.

I am originally from Germany where I graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering, concentration in textile technology.  I have been part of the KCS family since 2002.  After moving to Kannapolis in 2000, I worked at Forest Park Elementary School as a teacher assistant and bus driver for three years while I earned my teaching certification and Master's Degree in middle grades mathematics and science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Feel free to contact me with questions or comments by email (preferred) or by school phone (704) 932-4102.

College(s) Attended/Degrees Earned:
Hochschule Niederrhein, Germany: Bachelor's of Science in Textile Engineering
UNC Charlotte: Master's of Arts in Teaching in Middle Grades Mathematics
Educational Philosophy/Vision:
Teaching is sharing knowledge and skills training we have received by others knowing that it will be passed on through our students.

“A good head and good heart are always a formidable combination. But when you add to that a literate tongue or pen, then you have something very special.”
