KMS Instructional Technology Facilitator
Carl Hoffman, M.Ed
Computer Information Systems
Kannapolis Middle School
After serving as a teacher, coach and technology administrator in Michigan for 30 years, I recently relocated here to Kannapolis City Schools where I serve as the Technology Facilitator at KMS. I believe that our mission at KMS is to prepare our students for their next station in life and that teachers are at the forefront of this endeavor. My role is to support them and their classroom activities in the area of instructional technology. In addition to maintaining our equipment, I plan for and carry out training and other professional development activities, as well as, model appropriate use of technology to support instruction and bolster student achievement.
I'm very proud to say that we recently deployed over 1000 Dell Chromebooks for use by our students and teachers. This initiative was well received and the students are making very good use of this wonderful resource. Many of our teachers are taking full advantage of the Google Resources for Educators and have created virtual classrooms for blended instruction. If you would like to know more about our one to one Chromebook initiative, please don't hesitate to call or email.
