NC Final Exam in 7th Grade Social Studies

Effective in 2012-2013, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) will require all students in social studies classes to participate in the North Carolina Final Exams. These will be given at the end of the school year at about the same time as the End-of-Grade tests.

The NC Final Exams will cover the information and skills contained in the NC Standard Course of Study (NCSCOS) as well as the Common Core Standards for Social Studies. The NC Final Exam will contain 42 items and students will have 120 minutes (2 hours) in which to complete the exam.
