Unit Two: Uncovered

Essential Questions:

  • What is your story?

  • What is identity?

  • How does wearing a “mask” change your point of view?

  • How does effective communication impact how we know who someone else is?

  • How does word choice greatly impact one’s communication?

We will be reading two novels during this Unit.  The first novel isThe Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.  The second will be The Bronx Masquerade by Nikki Grimes.  Below you will find all materials I have given you in class.

Pre-Reading Introduction

Throughout the Book, you will need to stop at the end of each chapter and make sure you are completing the steps for your chapter summaries.  These summaries include determining a title for each chapter and illustrating and coloring a visual for the chapter of an important scene.  Your chart for this information is located in your daybook.
