Hello Students and Parents,

On the left you will find resources to help you navigate 7th Grade Science.

A little bit about me, I am originally from Meredosia, Illinois. Meredosia is a small farm town located along the Illinois River. Growing up there was interesting and I can tell you some stories.

After high school I attended Milligan College in East Tennessee where I studied Elementary Education with a concentration in Social Studies. I loved my time at Milligan. Big difference from rural Illinois to the mountains of Tennessee.  It was here that I met some of my closest friends, opened my eyes to the world, provided me the opportunity to travel in Europe and become a part of a community.

After I graduated I had the opportunity to move to Charlotte, NC. Here I got my first job and met my husband. In 2001 I got married and began working for Kannapolis City Schools. In 2004 we welcomed our daughters (yes twins).

I taught 7th grade science till 2012 when I was asked to teach 8th grade science. This year I am returning back to 7th grade science. I am looking forward to returning to the 7th grade and all the new adventures that await us with the new building and team.

College(s) Attended/Degrees Earned:

- John Wood Community College - classes towards undergrad degree.

- Bachelor's of Arts in Elementary Education with a Concentration in Social Studies from Milligan College in May of 1999.

- Masters in Middle School Education from the University of North Carolina of Charlotte in December 2010.

Educational Philosophy/Vision:

My philosophy is that every child has a right to an education. My vision is to grow all students academically who come into my room each and every day. Yes, I want them to be successful in science but I love to see our students be successful in all areas of their lives. The Volunteer team works to get to know our students, to gain their trust, and work with them to stay/get on a path of success for the 7th grade and beyond.
